The Goyang International Expo Foundation announced that it is recruiting participating organizations until July 15 for the '2026 Goyang Flower City Citizen Flowerbed Creation Project, ' in which citizens directly plant and tend to flowers to create beautiful autumn flower landscapes throughout Goyang Special City.

This project is a citizen-participatory floral culture expansion initiative in which the foundation provides flower seeds and civic groups directly sow and manage flowers on vacant land within the district . Selected groups will be provided with two types of autumn flower seeds ( yellow cosmos or zinnia ) . Participating groups will utilize the provided seeds to plant flowers in local vacant spaces and maintain them continuously, with plans to showcase beautiful floral landscapes throughout the city in the autumn.

In particular, this project is linked to the 2026 Goyang Autumn Flower Festival , which will be held at Ilsan Lake Park from October 1 to 11. As flowerbeds created by citizens spread throughout the city, it is expected to enrich the autumn atmosphere and create an urban environment where people can enjoy flowers in their daily lives.

The applicant must be a civic group in Goyang City that occupies or owns a vacant space of 100 m² or more, and must be a group composed of multiple members capable of continuously managing the applied space.

Lee Chang-hyun, CEO of the Goyang International Expo Foundation, said , " Every single seed we sow will bloom into a beautiful flower, coloring every corner of the city and serving as a valuable foundation for building Goyang Special City, the City of Flowers together . " He added , " I look forward to the participation of many organizations further spreading flower culture in daily life and filling the entire city with beautiful autumn flowers . "

Detailed recruitment information and application methods can be found in the announcements section of the Goyang International Expo Foundation website (gief.or.kr).
